Hello everyone
just wanted to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year!

This is my last watch purchase of 2011 , it was unexpected.

It a Longines Silvergines ! Cross referenced with the Silver Arrow .  Plus with its original fixoflex longines signed bracelet! No box or papers ...

Here is a ad for  the date model Silver Arrrow, from what I have read it was only offered for one year!

Looking forward to reading everyone's post of watches acquired in 2012!!!

Happy New Years to all

Best regards

Bill Sohne

Happy New year to you Bill and..........

the same to all on this forum. My last purchase? Well, I'm sorry to say that it was not an Omega although I have bought several in the last year but my last purchase was:- I have had several Rolex (shhhh - dare I say that here?) but was just blown away by the quality of this Sub-a -Like. It uses an ETA 2824 and is waterproof to 300m (1000ft) - not that I swim at that depth you know - 4m is about my mark these days!!! However, my last Omega was this very nice 351 bumper:- Ref 2637 and dated at 19

This acquisition dates already from the first half of 2011. After it's arrival i noticed something peculiar: at regular intervals the pusher had to be depressed several times before the timer would start to operate. How come? since these movements type 15TL (Omega 33.3) are normally utterly reliable. Oh dear, one of the pillars on the column wheel has simply broken off and vanished... (see photo), that is not good ! What to do? for the rest everything is functional but i don't like to be surpris

The last acquisition . . .

. . . was the least costly . . . . . . and the most unexpected. Happy New Year, Bill! Art

That was the last one of 2011

A ST 166.0081 powered by caliber 565 . Interesting and very funky. This morning the car radio was playing Sly & The Family Stone "I Want To Take You Higher" and my wife said that this watch matches the song. Cheers and a great 2012 to all of us. Nilo

Congratulations on that find...

These Geneves were gorgeous examples of late 60s chic. I picked up one a few months ago and it has become one of my favorites. Those cushion cased Omegas aren't the most popular for a lot of people, but I find them a great genre on their own. As much a classic today as anything they did prior IMHO, except for the obvious milestone movements and watches. You were very fortunate to get your with a bracelet, which requires the additional adapter ring to secure it to the case. Mine's from 1969
