Reuven Malter's original post introduces the 2021 Longines Dolce Vita Sector Dial, a piece that sparked considerable discussion among collectors for its design and specifications. Malter highlights its men's sizing and the notable absence of a silicon balance spring, prompting the community to weigh in on its appeal and market positioning. This article synthesizes the initial reactions and insights from the WatchProSite community, offering a retrospective look at a watch that aimed to carve out a unique space in the rectangular watch segment.

Beautiful design, interesting crown. Delicious... I look more....interchangeable straps (Mmm very good). And then, I find out the little secrets - no silicone. Nevermind, some women lack in some areas but it makes them more lovely. This can compete with the Cartier Tanks and Hermes Cape Cods in many many ways. They may sieze the market segment. And then I saw the automatic men’s range. They look like beautiful Cuervo Y Sobrino pieces. Cheaper, but same effect.

Women are surprisingly different from men in choosing pieces. I’ve seen so many women, who don’t read about watches. They buy a watch as though they were going to the forest to pick wild berries or mushrooms. They will go into the AD with a girl friend, look and try on some pieces are ask their friends if it looks good, and just buy it. Men are more like hunters. They stalk the prey a while, and zoom in for 1 big swooping kill.
I like it with the black strap too...
It’s like a woman who wears this Credit: Red bubble
to produce many handwound movements. That is why the VC 1942 is so special, imo!
