In this captivating post, WatchProSite contributor amanico presents a stunning vintage Longines 13ZN Chronograph from a friend's collection. His detailed photography and insightful commentary highlight the watch's exceptional design and the horological significance of its movement, making a compelling case for its place among the finest chronographs. This article delves into the aesthetic and technical merits that continue to make the Longines 13ZN a highly sought-after piece for collectors.

From one of my friends' collection.

These vintage Longines Chrono should deserve a place in the Pantheon of fine chronographs, in my opinion.

Here we have a 37 / 38 mm case, a step bezel, " mushrooms " pushers, and, last but not least, a superb chronograph movement, the 13ZN. Without forgetting the dial, which has a lot of charm!

Enjoy,

Nicolas

And if you look at auction results they do fetch a nice sum, up there with the 32x from Omega. The 13ZN and the later 30CH are wonderful calibers and the one you have shared with us here is special in finish since the base and bridges are gilted - very pleasing to the eye I have to say ( ok, since I am not good at movements I judge them from a aesthetic perspective ) Regards, Stefan

At first glance the case looked like solid SS until I took notice of the backside of the lugs, oh well ...
