Blomman Mr Blue shares a delightful account of a mini-GTG in Stockholm with fellow member Epilogue. The highlight of their meeting was the uncanny discovery of two nearly identical Lemania Tg 195 watches, both from the same year and only 14 serial numbers apart, each exhibiting a rare chocolate patina. This post beautifully captures the serendipity and camaraderie that define the WatchProSite community.
Today I had the pleasure to meet up with one of the British members here in the forum - Epilogue!
We meet back in 2012 at one of the London House Mafia GTG’s. Since then we have kept in contact both on and off the board, so when he told me he is coming to Stockholm this summer I was very happy!
So, knowing his taste in Military watches and vintage chronographs, since in Stockholm, I brought some Swedish MIL watches…
Imagine my surprise when he show me his!
Exactly the same chocolate patina as mine but without the ghost hands…
And not only the same patina, they are both from the same year. Only 14 numbers apart!
Interesting to see two watches so close that they had to come from the same batch with the same patina… I have seen quite a few Lemania Tg 195, but never two with this patina…
On his wrist…
On my wrist….
It was great to see you again, my friend!
Cheers mate!

It was one of several brands, including IWC, to supply watches meeting these stringent requirements for air navigation. These watches were designed for extreme legibility, robustness, and accuracy, serving as essential tools for RAF navigators.
Equipped with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 488/SBr, a manually wound movement, the Mark XI features a hacking seconds function for precise synchronization. The movement is housed within a soft iron inner case for anti-magnetic protection, a critical feature for aviation instruments. The stainless steel case typically measures around 36mm in diameter, with a fixed bezel and a screw-down case back, ensuring durability and water resistance suitable for military use.
For collectors, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Mark XI represents a pinnacle of military watch design and functional horology. Its clean, utilitarian aesthetic, combined with its robust construction and historical provenance, makes it highly sought after. The watch's enduring appeal lies in its direct connection to post-war aviation and its embodiment of purpose-built design.
I've always wanted a TG 195 or equivalent. Cool stuff! Where was my invitation to this little GTG in Stockholm? Good job Epilogue and Blomman!
Have the right amount of chocolate for your sweet tooth! ;) Best Blomman
are coming over and I will arrange something! :) Best Blomman
Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully the weather will be as warm when I visit one day.
Hey matey, Thanks for treating me to this wonderful afternoon in the capital, Stockholm, perhaps the most beautiful city for a GTG ;) Blomman and I had a productive afternoon. From sharing watches and stories, to trying on the latest pieces at the AD, to drinking golden Swedish beer in the sun, we did it all! Blomman, Sweden's Bad Ass watch collector and well know to ADs throughout the territory, helped me discover one of my favourite watches. I had already handled the UN Sonata (thanks Nico!),
Winter time is not as nice...! Best Blomman
