The answers are:

(A) This one is easy - they are all tourbillons

(B) These timepieces are all made by independent watch makers

(C) Easy again - watches with enamel dials

(D) Tricky one - watches with Roman indices

So, next question - which one is my new love?

No cigar for guessing right - the Laurent Ferrier Tourbillon

Here are two close-ups. Can you spot what is written in small fonts on the dial?

Right, Tourbillon Double Spiral

And the lovely tourby subtlely 'hidden' at the back...

I am sure you have gotten all the answers right, haven't you? smile  Sorry for the appalling images...

Cheers

Sam

(e) they are all ...

... wound and running. Bravo, Sam. In so many shots of people's collections the watches are 'dead' in the box or on the table. Even at GTGs. Such a sad thing to do to a watch. But you have given them life and are a good father. :-) Wonderful collection and addition to the family. Andrew

Thanks Andrew :)

I wound them once a week or so. My friends told me best is to wound them once every two weeks... What do you think? Best Sam

My practice is to ...

... wind them all monthly. I also actuate pushers on chronographs and set dates, just to keep those mechanisms moving. I also turn them into a different resting position: upside down or on their side. You don't want gravity influencing the position of oils if they are in the same position for months on end. Of course the best place is on the wrist, but unfortunately we only have two of those. A

I never thought about the resting positions

Good advice Andrew. Thx.
