Nicolas (amanico) introduces a rare Laurent Ferrier Galet in steel with a blue 'moss' dial, a special edition created for Parisian dealer Antoine de Macedo. This post offers a close look at a limited-production timepiece that exemplifies Laurent Ferrier's distinctive aesthetic and horological philosophy, particularly its acclaimed micro-rotor movement. The discussion explores the appeal of steel in high horology and the brand's unique design language.

Antoine de Macedo is famous watch dealer in Paris, who also is an AD for Laurent Ferrier, and a good friend.

If my memory serves me well, it is the second time Antoine asks to Laurent Ferrier to make a watch for him. Here, this is the Galet case, in steel, with a blue " moss " dial. 10 watches only, or should I say 9, as Antoine de Macedo bought one for him.

So here you have a delicious case, a nice dial, cool chic, and the eye catching micro rotor movement.

Generally, I prefer manual winding movements, but there are some personal exceptions, such as the Lange movement with the three quarter rotor and some micro rotor movements, like this one, or the Patek Cal 240, or some vintage Universal GenΓ¨ve ones, without forgetting the Girard Perregaux Tourbillon with gold bridges.

This Laurent Ferrier movement receives a good level of decoration.

Here are the pictures:

I am more and more convinced by these Laurent Ferrier... I still have to find the case I will go for, and the dial, most probably enamel. But I know that it will be this movement.

Best,

Nicolas

Beautifull watch with clear design and at the same time high recognicion value, not easy to do! Very nice movement with high end finish!

I dont like the snap on case back, it is not a problem to make a srew down case back. L.F. had to be interested to protect this (his) wonderfull movement in the best kind. Best
