A rather dull reception - but glancing down at my wrist brought a smile....

About the Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Ref. LF226.01

The Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin represents a pivotal offering within the esteemed independent brand's portfolio, embodying a philosophy rooted in traditional horology and understated elegance. Launched to commemorate Laurent Ferrier's 10th anniversary, this model draws directly from the founder's deep appreciation for mid-20th-century chronometers, particularly those with a focus on legibility and refined aesthetics. It serves as an accessible entry point into the brand's distinct universe, showcasing the meticulous finishing and design codes that define Laurent Ferrier, while offering a more contemporary and robust material choice in steel.

Technically, the Classic Origin is powered by the manual-winding LF116.01 caliber, a movement celebrated for its exceptional finishing, including Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and polished anglage, even if not visible in this particular image. The watch's design language is instantly recognizable: the signature "assegai" hands, the elegant "peardrop" lugs, and the fluted onion crown contribute to a cohesive and timeless aesthetic. The opaline dial, with its subtle crosshair and small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock, prioritizes clarity and balance, reflecting a commitment to functional beauty over superfluous ornamentation.

For collectors, the Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin holds a significant position. It appeals to those who value the artistry of independent watchmaking, the pursuit of horological excellence, and a design ethos that transcends fleeting trends. Its steel case makes it a versatile and durable option for daily wear, while its inherent rarity and the brand's reputation for uncompromising quality ensure its desirability in the secondary market. The Classic Origin is more than just a timepiece; it is a statement of refined taste and an appreciation for the enduring principles of haute horlogerie.

It must be very dull since I only see a blue question mark!!

Having had a classic origin- looking down at it is a delight! The case shape is so sensual, clear and legible dial. A real treat 🍻

Now that the picture is there

Another thing I LOVE is the shape of the hands, in all dimensions. It doesn’t pick up how special they are on camera. And the perfectly finished gr5 Ti case. Big small seconds. Perfect wind feel. A real gem
