Have had the special 1815 Honeygold on the wrist a few days this week.

It’s a very easy watch to wear, any perceived dressiness of a coloured metal is totally removed with this watch. Yet, it retains enough colour for the wearer to know this is not a basic steel case.

I thought I’d share these pictures specifically as they highlight the colour in an every day setting. One can see in some light the metal appears to be white, in other cases you can sense there’s something more there (a pale yellow).

Upon quick glance I think in most cases it could easily be mistaken for a white metal.

Dials colour and strap colour will play a part in this too. Some will enhance the colour of the case while others will let it fade away. I think Lange did a good job with the dial on this one, it allows the case metal to show in ways. (The strap is mine, Lange don’t tend to do much good with their strap pairings).

Yes. It is something ALS do well in general.

Low key for the most part. But I think this one is special in that it’s a simple watch with two subtle twists; the case material and the textured dial. I don’t want to shop my own book, least some over zealous overlord levels a shilling accusation my way, but this is one of the most underrated (and undervalued) of all the Honeygold ALS. And I’m not exactly sure why.

It’s a magical metal; something different.

I’d be very interested to see the new Odysseus in Honeygold. I’d wonder if too much of the metal changes the character of the metal.
