CR's original post, featuring a captivating image, sparked a lively discussion among collectors about the evolving luxury watch retail landscape. His observations about a new A. Lange & Söhne boutique opening in Boston provide a timely snapshot of the brand's expanding presence and the challenges collectors face in acquiring highly sought-after timepieces. This thread offers valuable insights into the dynamics of demand, supply, and the boutique experience in the luxury watch market.

But yes, that must be the Rolex boutique (run by Longs). But why do you say the new place is an ALS boutique, or were you joking?? Edit: oh, i see, he posted in the ALS page
given their relatively smaller size. A VC boutique wouldn’t have surprised me. And ShreveCL is an AD right there. If this is true, then I guess that changes. Should be interesting.
I'm sure it will be run like all other boutiques (i.e., trying to sell all the models that don't sell with the promise of a SS "Odysseus"), but I'll be curious to learn more about their new Boston adventure! Cheers.
smart business tactic
Some people took the bait and bought lots of other undesired stuff in order to get the “Odysseus” (I heard ALS boutiques even explicitly mention a price tag!😱), so in part the scheme succeeded….Maybe now, by sitting right next to the masters, they’ll also learn how to sell the remaining watches!😂😉
I’m going to become excellent at accepting rejection from these “Watch Nazis” with all these empty boutiques. “ No watch for you! ” Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to see the Odysseus in the flesh. As much as I loved it in photos, it just didn’t do anything emotionally for me once I tried it on the wrist. So, perhaps, they will “allow” me to acquire another piece!🤞
