It makes me think of the actual GO Senator Chronometer which is another marvel from Glashutte. Picture is from GO website.
I happened to be in Munich on business when that watch was first released. I was passing the Wempe boutique and saw it in the window. I was mesmerized and walked right in to check it out. It was spectacular. The beautiful finishing, the blue steel hands, the heft of the platinum case, the sublime feeling I got when winding the saxomat movement, and the zero reset feature. I had to have it. Sadly, it was beyond my means….But I never forgot about it. About 7 years later, I saw a rose gold version
It's quite remarkable when you think about it -- that Lange occasionally made watches for retail partners with movements that were never used in Lange's standard production models. These bespoke movements were not major departures from their more common siblings, but still, it's notable.
And the micro-rotor was a work of art. Definitely more interesting than the full rotor.
The Z is rose gold black dial time only.
