Rose gold, white gold or yellow gold?

My own taste leads me to the white gold and its black dial. And I really like this friendly complication!

You?

About the A. Lange and Söhne Lange 1 Ref. 136.021

The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 reference 136.021 is a notable iteration of the brand's signature model, distinguished by its white gold case and black dial. This particular configuration offers a monochromatic aesthetic that sets it apart from other metal and dial combinations within the Lange 1 family. It maintains the characteristic asymmetric dial layout, which includes an off-center main dial, a large outsize date display, and a power reserve indicator, all arranged according to specific mathematical principles. This reference is recognized for its understated luxury and technical precision.

This Lange 1 reference features a 38.5mm white gold case, housing the manually wound L121.1 caliber. This movement is known for its intricate finishing, including Glashütte ribbing, blued screws, and hand-engraved balance cock. The watch offers a substantial 72-hour power reserve, indicated on the dial. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, ensuring clarity and scratch resistance. The case design is classic Lange, with polished and brushed surfaces complementing the precious metal.

For collectors, the 136.021 represents a refined choice within the Lange 1 collection, appealing to those who appreciate the subtle elegance of white gold paired with a dark dial. Its enduring design and mechanical integrity make it a significant piece for enthusiasts of high-end German watchmaking. While other Lange 1 variants exist in rose gold and yellow gold, this white gold and black dial combination is particularly sought after for its distinct visual character and versatility.

This Daylights Savings Time thing adds complicity and not really something useful, but I agree it looks cleaner.

Love this reference, and the new caliber.

But overall I consider this dial too busy and strongly prefer classic L1, or maximum with the moonphase
