This article delves into the community's shared expertise, particularly regarding the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual's unique leap year indicator.

....
And perfect choices for the occasion! Quick question - Can you explain how the year indicator on the dato perpetual works? It should be pointing at "2", right? Or, does it go there in Feb? Thanks!
Visualise the leap year indicator of the Datograph Perpetual as being divided into four zones, with each commencing at the halfway mark to the indicated year. Using today as an example: as we have just entered the second year after the leap year, the indicator falls exactly between the "1" and "2" mark. It will fall on "2" when it hits the middle of the year. Of course, this preceding discussion explains it way better than I could!
Nothing beats a picture. Having reached the middle of the year, the leap year indicator now falls neatly on "2" (obscured of course by the July marker).
