Dedestexhes shares a personal take on pairing an A. Lange & Söhne timepiece with a Shinola steel bracelet, a combination that evokes a distinct 1930s vintage aesthetic. This article explores his journey to achieve this look, his long-standing search for an original Wellendorf bracelet, and the community's insights on this unconventional yet stylish pairing. His post highlights how personal preference can redefine the wearing experience of luxury watches.
But I do. It gives me a really vintage vibe from the 30ties.
As I’m looking for an original Wellendorf now close to 10 years (and still didn’t find the correct one), I went with the one of Shinola in steel. I must say that I LOVE the result. Thx for CR and others that posted this solution in other threads.
Cheers from happy Dirk

Key Points from the Discussion
- The Shinola bracelet concept originated from a forum member who discovered it in a Shinola store, initially pairing it with a platinum Datograph.
- Concerns were raised about potential wear on the inside lugs of the watch due to the steel bracelet, leading the original proposer to discontinue its use.
- A solution to prevent lug hole enlargement involves using a small sleeve or insert, though the primary concern for some collectors is abrasion to the inside of the lugs from the endlink's movement.
- Despite potential wear, dedestexhes is not overly concerned due to infrequent wear and the bracelet's ability to re-engage his interest in the watch, aligning with a more casual lifestyle.
- Another collector, also searching for a Wellendorf bracelet, was inspired by the post to purchase the Shinola bracelet, especially noting its sale price.
- Some A. Lange & Söhne models may feature reinforced lug holes, possibly with titanium, which could mitigate wear concerns.
