Celebrating my 10 year anniversary with……my 1815

I still remember the purchase of what was then my most expensive watch purchase ever. Sweaty palms and all. But I had fallen in love with the German look, the quality of the package, the German silver and all the other things related to the Lange value proposition.

It has travelled with me, spent years in New York and has become my go to watch for important events where I need a bit of extra luck.

It was also the gateway drug to two other Lange watches in my collection. And it got me on a factory visit in Glashütte, meeting the people behind the magic.

In short, it has become part of my personal story as these things tend to do.

I know exactly how you feel - similar for me and my LUC Chrono One, also just over 10 years ago 😊👍🏻

Your Lange story mirrors my own which began for me in 1998.

This exact model was my most expensive watch purchase ever , and I remember that feeling too, sweaty palms and all, HAHA. Looks like it certainly paid off for the joy and memories you have with it. Enjoy!

It's heartening that it has given you so much joy. And it's easy to understand, the 1815 is wonderfully crafted.

We have all been there, be it $1000, $5000 or higher up limits. I think the feelings are the same regardless of the actual price, uncertainty, “am I crazy” and “am I 100% sure this is the right watch” among other thoughts like “should I tell my wife/partner/mother how much this cost” ! In your case, you’ve definitely vindicated any doubts there may have been. I’d be curious to know how certain or uncertain you were about the purchase at the time. Congrats on the 14 years, and having found that c
