Small-luxury-world's "Vrooom Vrooom" post offers a vibrant, first-hand account of the 2010 Lamborghini Super Trofeo race weekend at Hockenheim. This article provides a unique glimpse into the world's fastest one-make series, capturing the excitement and raw power of Lamborghini racing. His detailed photo essay and personal experience, including passenger laps, make this a compelling read for automotive enthusiasts.

another Purist asked me to name the post like this - here we go smile

The teaser for this post (shown in the WristScan forum) was:

for Nicolas & PinkPanther (orange; 1, 7, 8) smile

Anyway, what was it all about? It was about bulls and fights.
Even there was (some) blood, I don´t talk about bullfights from Spain.

What else is shown at that picture? Well, we will see later ...

I was invited to the first race weekend of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo 2010, in Hockenheim. The fastest one-make series in the world.
Altogether three PuristS have been invited and two attended. The third was impeded in London, because of the volcano clouds :-(

But let me start with some impressions of the race.

Shall we let them out?

Ok, ok, here we go ...

To watch the race was good fun, but it was even better to go closer ...

and I mean not only the award ceremony. It is great if you are allowed to go closer, to get the feeling and the emotions of that kind of events.

After the races at the first day there have been passenger laps. I had to wait until the second day, but took the chance to take some more pictures for you smile

The Super Trofeo is more or less a gentlemen driver race. If someone has a race licence and the money to buy one of the race cars, he can attend.
Lucky them, but hey I was lucky enough to do one round ...

... but to be honest, on the wrong side smile

(Driver from Lamborghini Italy, but with the wrong watch smile )

It was just one round and I was not the driver, but believe me it was super cool and lots of fun smile smile smile

Unfortunately nobody asked me to test the new SLS or at least the old one ...

I felt prepared after my first ride in a Lamborghini race car smile

Of course there have been races at the second day as well ...

... and some watches with the onlookers ...

... fans of Marc Hayek ...

... and a well known face for frequent Basel visitors amongst the onlookers ...

Any guesses who he is?

And now? Willy Moret, an unicum, an artist, a watchmaker, a key person within Blancpain.

... and some more cars ...

Is it still called a car? ...

Maybe a supercar smile

The Pace Car during a brake, infront of the Lambo Truck and the VIP area.

A CEO preparing his speech ...

... and two CEOs holding their speech ...

Three gentlemen (drivers) ...

discussing their races ...

Marc Hayek (CEO of Blancpain), Martin Brundle (former F1 driver, moderator, ...) and his son.

Visiting the mechanics of Reiters Engineering ...

to have one more look behind the scenes ...

Is it a brake or is it a brake?

Anyway, the orange should look familiar to some of you smile

And my humble contribution with an engine behind ...

... ähhh, not the engine ...

This is an engine ...

... isn´t it smile

Next to the races, the cars, the gi ...s (yes Thomas, there have been some smile ), there have been some aficionados of watches as well.

(Novelty of 2010)

Back to the race:

Blancpain Reiter Engineering’s Marc A. Hayek and Peter Kox claimed two victories and a second-place finish at the first round of the 2010 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo season at Hockenheim, Germany, on 23-25 April 2010.

Hope I could cover a little bit the spirit of a great weekend and that you liked it. For me it was great fun to attend and to meet one more Purist in person.
By the way when I was invited last year, I couldn´t attend because of the European PuristS GTG in London smile

Oliver

Hello s-l-w! So cool you got to attend the racing event and the hot lap around the track must have been the ride of your life! I wonder what the lap time these guys are doing around Hockenheim? -MW

I am so envious! You brought back some great memories of me going to the Audi event held at the California Speedway last year when I drove the S5 and got a ride in the R8. Unlike you, I dropped my camera and didnt take any photographs at the event :-(. In any event, one of the concept all-black Lamborghini's (in the middle of the article) cannot be called a car. It deserves to be a bat mobile! Again thanks for the great pictures. J.

Looks like an amazing time! The cars are gorgeous! For once I was focused on something else in the pictures beside watches. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Cheers, Daos

. . . I've been to hundreds of baseball games and scores of football games, but memories are few and far between. On the other hand, I've been to only a dozen races, but have vivid memories of all of them. One of the best is of dozens of De Tomaso Panteras circling Ontario Motor Speedway for a few laps before the 1974 California 500. Your photos of a track full of Lamborghinis brought back that moment from the distant past . . . gratefully, Art
