DonCorson introduces Konstantin Chaykin's 2018 BaselWorld novelties, highlighting the continued success of the 'Joker' watch and the debut of the 'Clown' and 'Halloween' pieces. The post showcases the independent watchmaker's distinctive approach to horology, emphasizing his creative output and the unique character of his designs.

Konstantin Chaykin's last year has been defined by the success of his "Joker" watch, introduced last year at BaselWorld.
This year he showed also a "Clown" watch and a "Halloween" unique piece.
Note that the joker is wearing a suit and tie this year.
This year he will be catching up on his orders and will then hopefully move on to something new.
(The creative mind of the independent watchmaker with the most patents is always working, not one to rest on his laurels)

but I would have thought that the novelty of having a clown of joker watch would wear out pretty quickly.

My Joker says hi to his friends = ) I have to say, the novelty is still going strong and my love on this watch is growing more and more everyday. As my wife put it perfectly, “The watch is so you!” personally-wise . Yes, it may not be to everyone’s taste. But this watch never fails to put a smile on my face or to anyone around me. I get asked more questions on this one than my entire collection combined, from watch lovers or not. To sum it up, it’s a horological joke at it’s best in a very charm

Will look very interesting when the case has aged, although I think something more demonic would have matched perfectly with the bronze case. Now that tie is really clever, another humorous novelty. Great creativity from Chaykin, glad this whole series has been successful.
