Hi Alex, That's a beautiful piece, thanks so much for posting it and thanks of course also to the owner. Do you know what the deal is with the balance bridge? At least one other Observatoire I've seen had the very thin, tourbillon-style balance cock which amply displayed the Grossman inner curve of the hairspring. I thought at the time that it was a standard feature of this series, but seeing this piece I'm not sure what the story is. Do you know? Thanks! _john
shape of the balance cock were executed to the clients taste and certain of these watches were made with a balance cock similar to the one in Kari(s chronograph.
And WHAT a nice watch. Just perfect. Thx a lot for sharing. (do you members know if originally the escape wheel bridge was BELOW the balance rim? Or has it been modified? The size of the balance is really rather nice)
standard feature of the 260, and presumably for the reason you suggest, it allows a much larger balance:
That is without question the best version of that watch. You run out of superlatives with Voutilanen! I'd just like to note that I had the opportunity to buy a pt version of this watch about 6 months ago or so, which makes me wonder if there may be more than one pt. out there?
