At Beverly Hills, you can expect everything.

The streets are live museum, when it comes to cars.

Did you ever see a Bugatti Veyron? Go there, and you will certainly find one.

In fact, I did...

Porsche cars are very common, as well as Ferraris, Aston and whatever you want.

Dizziness is a common feeling.

Luxury shops are as frequent as bakeries, in other towns.

Nice hotels, too.

Like the one I was lucky to have, the Montage:

The Duometre, UTT or not, by the way, is sublimed by such an environment:

On a marble chest of drawers, le chic du chic, coherent with the retro look of the Duometre UTT:

Local time for the breakfast... The famous cup shot:

A quick view, outside the hotel room, to feel the cool Californian air, a delicious contrast with the cold and grey Paris.

Do you notice that the jumping hour is red at 9 ( as well as at 7, by the way. A detail to match with the address of the Paris Boutique ) ?

A quick view of the famous Rodeo Drive where you can visit the watch stores. La Creme de la Creme:

And the mandatory local wrist shot:

The event at the Beverly Hills was gathering some usual purist suspects, in al friendship, to discover the new MUT 39 Perpetuals as well as the Duometre UTT, of course, and the dinner at the Montage was superb.

I will take this opportunity to thank the teams of the Vegas, South Coast Plaza and Beverly Hills Boutiques for their very warm welcome, and to wish them the best for the future, as well as Philippe Bonay and Yves Meylan for their friendship and for the great and funny moments we lived.

Here are some links on the reports about these dinners and moments shared together:

My small stay in Beverly Hills is the last part of my American Trip.

It is time to pack the luggage and the computer.

I will certainly miss my californian office! smile

I feel a bit nostalgic, because I will leave a place I love, some good friends, and the sunny weather.

Not to say that I will have to give the Duometre UTT back to the Paris Boutique, which is also a pain. A big one, as it was a friendly and great companion, during this trip, and as it literally grew on me, from the first day I saw it till now.

It will leave my wrist to go to my wish list. Somewhere at the top of it.

wink

I hope you didn't get tired of all these posts about the Duometre UTT, but I felt it was a good and original way to discover, understand and appreciate a watch.

Best!

Nicolas

interminable interviews and photo sessions, sleepless night writing reports and who knows all other sacrifices...all this with only your dear readers in mind, for our own enjoyment, education and entertainment. For all this Nicolas, thank you very much, merci beaucoup. Good on you. Cheers, Francois

... great tread, you've opened a door to watch discovery. Now i feel for you, as going back to grey, crowded, stressed, "all the time on strike"... Paris, is not going to be an easy task. Hope you took some of maggy's potion to help you handle the thermal shock ;)

It's ok ... you didn't bother us that much. It's the end of a great road trip across the US and it is indeed a kind of report I love to follow. And I guess it is as funny to write by the author. It is really a special watch and a special Duometre. I said before that the Chrono was my fav. but I really don't know if its true anymore. I had a problem with the chrono that could be the ultimate one, but the monopusher display was a limit for me. I like the monopusher as it is original, gives a light

....that I have loved reading your chronicles and seeing all the great sights. In many ways, one never really knows a watch until one lives with it for a while. So many watches appear like they will be right.....but then when it comes to wearing and living with them, then sometimes that is a disappointment. These are what i call mistakes! Watches that just don't live up to the expectation when on the wrist. Clearly, this UTT was the opposite experience. Love was not necessarily there at the star

I didn't discover the watch, there, but I discovered its huge charm. Only pleasure, here, and a few hours to sleep. Which is good for me. All the best, my friend. Nicolas
