This year, JLC, as for watches, introduces 2 very different kind of Atmos.

1/ A very technical and modern one, the Atmos 566 by Mark Newson.

Blue or White, in both cases, the Atmos " Newson " is made in Baccarat Crystal, as the first one, launched last year:

The First Atmos 561 Newson :

561 ... 566, these are the references of the Caliber housed in these Atmos.

On the 566, the caliber provides some interesting complications, as :

- A gorgeous sky chart of the Northern Hemisphere + Zodiac Signs.

- Indication of the Months.

- Equation of Time.

Which is very interesting, not to say captivating, with these 2 last Atmos " Newson ", is this blend between Modernity and Classic, between the original shape of the crystal bubble, and the very retro looking sky chart.

This blend, this contrast, makes the Clocks really unique.

You will observe that there is another difference between the Atmos Newson " first Generation " and these 2...

On the first generation, the clock is mounted on a cylindric foot, while on the latest, they are put on 3 round feet, disposed in a triangular way.

I see only one problem with these 2 marvels: They are rare ( LE of 18 pieces for the Blue, and 48 pieces for the White, and expensive ( around 60 000 Euros, if not more, if I remember their price correctly ) .

2/ The TRUE novelty of this year is undisputably the Atmos Réediton 1930.

It happens, sometimes, that JLC revisits its past, and each time, for our greatest pleasure.

We had the Polaris, we have the Memovox, and also an Atmos...

Here, JLC pays, legitimately, an hommage to the Creator of the Atmos, Mr Jean- Léon Reutter.

The Atmos Reedition 1930 is a faithful réedition of an early Atmos of the 30ies.

In fact, the actuality obliges me to reveal you some pics I took during my quick trip at the Manufacture, in last October, something I kept under my sleeve to show you later...

smile

Here's the original:

You will find the same bell shaped glass, the same dial with the same typo of the numbers, the superb and original propeller hands...Really, a faithful reproduction of the original!

Here, a close up of the dial and hands:

The only thing which differs in a visible way is the movement.

On the Vintage, it has the shape of a triangle:

On the Réedition, it lost this particular shape to gain a " cross " shape:

Well, honestly, if you didn't know that it is a réedition, wouldn't you applaud to its modern and timeless look?

Here again, it is a limited edition of 300 pieces, and this Beauty has a price: 16 000 Euros.

Two different characters, but 2 equally appealing pieces...

Best to All,

Cool pics Nicolas especially the macro! The 566 is great but my favorite is still the one JLC made in carbon fiber. -MW

.... but after knowing the price it's not for me. I was expecting it to be cheaper than the Marc Newson one considering it's not Baccarat! But JLC proved me wrong. Doh! Thanks for sharing the lovely photos!

...I do not like the ATMOS566 logo. It is nevertheless a great and beautiful handcraft success. Berny

and yes, if the first edition is anything to go by, the look is indeed very timeless.

and thankfully ludicrously expensive so still extremely pleased with mine now.. I remember you saying you visited the Atmos workshop and now I know what you saw...lucky man Nico. Are you not tempted with one yet..?? I look at mine every day and it always puts a smile on my face. FYI - that little dial that was showing a 6 whan I got it went past 9 and is now showing 12 so I'm sure it's the months of power reserve as my house temperature has been fluctuating between 15-20 degrees daily this past
