Some explanations, first, before discussing this Watch.

- 1681: This is the year Daniel JEANRICHARD completed his first Watch, and it is said to be the first Watch in Swizerland!

- Central seconds, because a version with small seocnds is available, too.

- Big case: I called it big, because there is another case, a round shaped one which is 41 mm big, while the one we are discussing is 44 mm big, and reminds me the cushion shaped Rolex / Panerai from the Mid Thirties.

Curiously, I had to re read twice, as in the real, the Watch looks much smaller. Good point.

The round bezel contrasts very nicely with the cushion case, offering some originality and elegance to this Watch.

The JR movement is in house, and offers a 48 hours power reserve. Which is enough.

Besides the case, there is another part I loved a lot, the blue dial... Despite this date, which ruins a bit the appeal a,d the purity of the dial, in my opinion. But I am well known to be a radical anti date guy.

One precision you will not see, as I was a bit short in time, but this Watch has a sapphire case back.

Here is the only picture I took, of the blue dialed version, which is pretty appealing, I find.

How do you feel it?

Best,

Nicolas

Dial, hands and see-through caseback suggest dress? Not an instant like but I think a writshot would give it a chance to redeem itself.

For Dive, I have something else to show you, soon. ;) To be seen in the flesh, indeed. I was not impressed, before seing it in the flesh, and the real encounter made me change my mind. Best, and thanks for looking! Nicolas

a very nice watch with an unusual case design which I fine very appealing. Need to try it to be convinced about the size though! 44mm "sounds" large;) Sporty, elegant I would describe it. Thank you Nicolas, didn't know that JeanRichard dated from 1681! Wow! Always good to live another day...to learn;) Cheers Francois from down Under

On the wrist, it is definitely convincing... If it didn't have this damn date... ;) Best, Nicolas

agree with you, why on earth "destroying" this otherwise beautiful dial with a date? Especially such a ridiculously small window in the context. Cheers Francois from Down Under

... JR1000 movement in order to remove the date. You can't just cover the date with the dial because you have the 3 position crown to deal with. I agree with you and Nico about the small date window on this occasion. Although most of the time I find a date display useful - poor memory! Regards, Andrew
