If u had this piece on, and were sitting at a cafe, I’d buy you a coffee and chat with you about watches. I met a very good friend that way. He is 50 years older than me. I noticed a man wearing a different piece daily and he noticed I had a different piece on daily. He would talk to me about watches and everything under the sun, over coffees and cigarettes. Then, more people joined the daily gatherings.
Yes that is the spirit of watch collectors. They can spot the passionate one a mile away. When I moved towns, I did not find anyone to talk to about watches anymore. Somehow..in Singapore were more collectors. But I did find 2 watch professionals (1 is the Assistant Manager for the Lange boutique, another works in The Hourglass) who knows and reads extensively about watch history and can chat with me for hours.
I love this tribute, I think JLC made it just right, the plexi is beautiful to look at
... until one of my boys is ready to take it, lucky me, that I still have plenty of time, as they are only 10 and 7 years old, cheers!
