Nicolas (amanico) presents a compelling 'what if' scenario for Jaeger-LeCoultre's Tribute to Geophysic, imagining a black dial variant that evokes the model's tool watch heritage. His conceptualization, initially envisioned as a WatchProSite Anniversary edition, sparks a discussion among collectors about design potential and brand engagement. This article explores the community's reaction to amanico's vision and the broader implications for JLC's strategy.

While we had the crosshairs white and blue, now the Black... I thought about this version as a WPS Anniversary Watch, but JLC was not interested, alas.

Best,

Nicolas

A shame, I would 100000% been a buyer. That looks so good!

Me as well

I had wondered for a while why there was never a black dial Geophysic—perfect version for a genuine tool watch. It’s good to see I wasn’t alone in wondering. I think there might have been scope also to do something special and different with the lume on this. But if JLC has no interest, I guess I shouldn’t speculate further. Thanks for posting!!!

See my answer below to Analog Sheen about the modifications I would bring to it... I concur!

Killer look for a great watch

What a killer look - sleek, nothing to remove or to add, calm look - I would be a buyer for sure Do you know if JLC was not interested because of a too small a size of the batch for the LE or because they wanted to retain the potential design to launch it “themselves” later? J.

I offered them a LE of 100 pieces. But they are not interested about a LE for a forum.
