If you had seen Andrew's coverage of the JLC dinner in Melbourne (here) you would know how much fun it is to attend a watch enthusiasts dinner organised by the amazing Team JLC Australia.

I have been honoured to be invited to one of the Sydney dinner (JLC hosted dinners over 2 nights in Sydney) and what could be better than spending an enjoyable night with gorgeous watches, great food, good company of old and new watch collecting friends!

The dinner's at The Dining Room, Park Hyatt, located right on the Sydney Harbour, with a splendid view of the Sydney Opera House right outside the private room. Forgive me for not taking a photo of the view, and I've missed photos of most of the food because I was to busy enjoying the night! But the JLC collection is too gorgeous to miss, and I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

Our menu on the night - yummmm...

Hard to put down the Duometre Travel Time, and pick up the knife and fork! photo P1040434_zpsed2d23ea.jpg

Movement design and finishing is superlative! photo P1040437_zpseb9fbf0c.jpg

I love the texture on the dial! photo P1040438_zpsde0655b6.jpg

The tribute to Geophysic (no movement inside). It's a very simple yet elegant watch. It's a perfect size on the wrist,  photo P1040440_zpse7ec3339.jpg

Love the lume dots on the side of the case, instead of being on the dial! photo P1040444_zpsfcfc652c.jpg

My favourite watch of the night! photo P1040449_zpsbff91969.jpg

Look at the movement finishing. Jaw dropping! photo P1040451_zpse251a543.jpg

Huge thanks to Sam Kan and Pierre-Etienne Durand from JLC for hosting such an enjoyable and memorable night of great food and amazing watches! Special thanks to Alexis de Laporte (Managing Director of JLC South East Asia and Australia) for his hospitality and his welcoming speech!

Thanks also to every attendee on the evening for your company!

Yres, JLC makes some nice watches... It is always a sweet pain to see some picutres of the Duometre UTT! Thank you, Sidney. Best, Nicolas

Thank you for the interesting write-up and great photos, Sydneyc. I was especially interested in seeing how JLC has dealt with the buzzsaw issue regarding their chosen movement for the Geophysic Tribute, as shown by the emotional messages posted in this Forum several weeks ago when the new watch was announced. The answer is utterly simple, as you indicated in your caption for the Geophysic photo, " The tribute to Geophysic (no movement inside)" : Don't include a movement in the watch! Brilliant!

It was an occasionally racuous (in a civilised manner of course!) evening, and a pleasure to attend. The watches were of course great, and the professionalism and care of the Hyatt folks of particular note. Team JLC in Australia are, as they say, tops (thanks Pierre and Sam) and it was a pleasure to be able to chat at length with Alexis. Shame about the 'empty' watch on his wrist,though... Oh, and in the era of hashtaggery, it was great to see JLC with an official hashtag for the Sydney and Melb
