Once again, as each year, I will shorty introduce the pieces of the 2014 collection, from the Grande Maison.

Is it an exceptional millesime, in terms of creativity? Well, I would say that it is an evolution rather than a revolution- a consolidation- BUT a consolidation ala JLC, with some remarkable new watches, some very appealing new variations, and maybe a surprise later, as JLC used to have this habit, in the last past years...

THE VARIATIONS:

1/ The Master Ultra Thin 1907, which borrows the same superb case and dial than the Jubilé, but in rose god, and without the " 1833 " mention, of course, or in white gold, with a superb enamel Grand Feu dial.

39mm case. 4, 05 mm for the rose gold version, 5, 04mm for the white gold version, due to the fact that the enamel dial is naturally a bit thicker.

The movement is of course the well known Cal 849, which is only 1, 85 mm high.

2/ The Master Ultra Thin Automatic 38, 5: Which is a smaller version of the MGUT 40. Same dial, smaller case. Available in stainless steel, or in rose gold.

The movement is the Cal 896, which is 3, 98mm high.

Two dials: Eggshell for the rose gold, sunburst silver for the stainless steel

3/ The Master Grande Tradition Cylindric Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar:

It is now available in rose gold, out of the Jubilé Collection, of course, with applied indexes in rose gold, and a different moonphase hand.

The case is 42 mm big, and houes the Cal 985.

4/ The Duometre UTT is now available worldwide, with a rose gold case, and a rose gold frame surrounding the jumping hour hand window, not limited, this time.

5/ Master Grande Ultra Thin 40: Central seconds, instead of a small second, and.. A date. Stainless steel or rose gold case.

The movement is the Cal 899, 3, 30mm high.

Two dials: Eggshell for the rose gold, sunburst silver for the stainless steel.

6/ The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Chocolate:

An evolution of the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin white gold case / grained dial, displaying a small second, but here, in rose gold, with a chocolate dial.

Two straps: An alligator and the Fagliano:

One watch deserves a special treatment, in the " evolutions " category:

7/ The Duometre à Quantième Lunaire 40,5 Enamel Grand Feu dial.

A clean captivating dial.

The case is made in white gold, 40, 5mm big, 13, 4mm high. The movement is the well known Cal 381.

THE NEW WATCHES:

8/ The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Automatic Night And Day:

Same case than any manual winding Grande Reverso Ultra Thin, thicker, though ( 9, 14 mm ) displaying a night and day complication.

A first, the automatic movement, in the G.R.U.T family. Available in rose gold and stainless steel.

9/ Hybris Mechanica Eleven:

An " Ultra Thin " 41 mm case, which is 7, 9 high, and which houses an automatic movement displaying a minute repeater AND a flying tourbillon.

Made in extra white gold, it is limited to 75 pieces.

I guess there will be, this year, once again, several winners in this 2014 collection... For a consolidation or transitional year, it is not bad at all!

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best,

.. For me the Hybris Mechanica Eleven, with MUT MR and a Tourbi is a revelation, of course far above my reach. - The rest of the collection is - how shall I say - refinement and/ or continous evolution, just as you remarked. For some issued pieces, I find it a bit difficult, to differentiate some models, with their characteristics and in their specifics, from last year's 2013 offerings. Many new round pieces, playing more the classy chord, which I appreciate - I also like the TTR 1931 with the C

I like them all, but the MUT 38,5 and the automatic Reverso are great adds to the current collection, the central seconds MUT looks fantastic too. The Duometre UTT looks so fresh, I like it. Chocolate Reverso looks very special, and the Hybris 11 is an amazing timepiece, I guess and hope it's as loud as his cousins. I would choose a MUT 38,5 in wg or ss, a pure classic with tons of elegance, to my eyes. :) thanks for sharing vte

And if I could dream - the UT MR! :) Would have loved to see a new Memovox this year... But you can't have it all... Thank you for the report, my friend! Best Blomman
