I had the honor to see, in my collector's life, 9 of these very rare watches. The numbers 6 / 8 / 9 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 15 / 20 and 24. All the case numbers I could observe started with 406 02x to end with 406 16x. As a reminder, SHOM stands for Service Hydrographique et Oceanographique de la Marine Fr

The numbers 6 / 8 / 9 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 15 / 20 and 24.

All the case numbers I could observe started with 406 02x to end with 406 16x.

As a reminder, SHOM stands for Service Hydrographique et Oceanographique de la Marine Française.

So, now you know that these watches were used as Tools.

A very discrete case ( Ref 159 ), a Cal 478  and a case back which says all....

Not the most famous JLC, but certainly not the less interesting nor intriguing!

As you know, tough to find these SHOMs are....

But without patience and efforts, would it be funny? ;) Very discrete, indeed, but once on the wrist, with the good strap, it is a killing piece. Best, my friend. Nicolas

Sometimes I think, maybe just a nice E 159 ( no SHOM).. But even that has been elusive !

.. I might even look at the E159 of my wife.. as nice reminder ! .. but as I said .. Maybe one day .. There always is hope .. & coincidence .. Best, hs

A nice E 159 is indeed not easy to find in good shape.

But you will miss the weight of history the SHOM is loaded with... Best, Nicolas
