Benlee338's acquisition of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Blue Duo Face offers a timely exploration into the nuances of modern Reverso ownership. His detailed observations, from dial aesthetics to wearability, provide invaluable insights for collectors considering this iconic reference. This article synthesizes community feedback, addressing common questions about dial photography, clasp comfort, and even a notable design detail on the reverse dial.

HI guys,

Just want to share that I just add this to my collection. The Reverso Tribute Blue Duo Face. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

and the reverse is not too shabby either ๐Ÿ˜

Love the guilloche dial. Btw, can anyone educate me if such dial can be made by machine or by hand? Thanks in advance.

Also, for some unknown reason, my phone camera keeps capturing the dial in purple in certain lighting. ie, to my eyes, which visually see it, it is blue, yet in the photo it turns out to be purple. ๐Ÿค”Like this :

Overall, I am very pleased with the watch. It definitely wears much better than my previous Reverso, the moonphase tribute which eventually I realised its just too big at 49.7mm. This one is the medium size at 47mm fits me just nice. The case is highly polished, and the front dial with the dazzling blue ( or purple? ) sunbust dial and sharp applied indices means it has the feel of a jewel, pristine and refine. The duo face also means it has a GMT function and can do two time zone. In fact, I was joking with a fellow WIS friend that this Reverso is half the price and twice the refinement compared to a Rolex SS GMT. My only gripe is with the deployant clasp, with those sharp pointed edges at the side of the clasp, that makes it uncomfortable to put on and remove. Other than this, the watch sits well on the wrist and wears comfortable.

It took me some time to buy this one as I am not that impressed with the watch initially due to only able to try it out in boutique lighting and JLC habit of of putting stickers on the whole watch including the dial will mean it significantly "dulls down" the appearance. But in natural light with all the stickers off, it's just brilliant looking.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿป

Love that blue dial whilst the other dial is more elegant. The concept is almost 100 years old and still holds strong. After all, you buy two watches fir the price of one. Congrats

I think this is one of the most timeless watches within the JLC lineup and perhaps one of the most timeless dress watches ever made. Enjoy it in good health.

I think the crystal has a coating which can make the face appear purple when viewed in certain lighting conditions. I guess the issue you raise is to do with your camera having automatic white balance. I completely agree with your description of the dial as being jewell-like, due to the sunburst dial, applied and faceted indices, and applied logo. It is something that it challenging to capture in still photographs. And I felt the same as you when I went to see the Tribute Small Seconds (Burgundy
