These day-night indicators

are so poetic. They used to have a sun-moon reverso, which is probably the most romantic watch I've ever seen!!

Hard indeed ...

I'm slightly leaning towards the black dial version, where the numbers "pop" a bit more. The one I handled was YG, on which I think white dial works ...

Funny how it adds a bit of retro touch in yellow gold. Very nice, too.
