Amanico introduces the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute to Ferdinand Hodler, a limited edition series celebrating the Swiss painter's 100th anniversary. This post highlights JLC's dedication to traditional métiers d'art, showcasing the intricate guilloché and enamel work on these exclusive timepieces.
In order to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of a famous Swiss Painter, Ferdinand HODLER this year, Jaeger Lecoultre decided to launch three different Reverso in white gold, in a limited edition of 8 pieces each, available in the Boutique of the Brand, only.
The Manufacture gave the conception of these Reverso to the Rare Métiers workshop, as their purpose is not to house a complication, but to use some classic technics such as guilloché and enamel for both the recto and the verso dial.
On the Recto dial, you first have a guilloché with small lozenges, which is covered with translucent enamel.
On the Verso side, you have the faithful reproduction of three of the Master's paintings:
- The Lake Thun with symmetric reflections, for the blue dial.
- The Lake Thun, with symmetric reflections before sunrise, for the green dial.
- The Lake Geneva with the Mont Blanc in the morning light, for the light brown dial.
You have to know that 50 hours are necessary to reproduce each of these paintings within the Reverso dimension. This information surprised me, as I imagined that it would take more time, but I am not a master enameler.
One word on the dimensions of these Reverso: 45, 5 x 27, 4 mm and a height of 9, 73 mm, which corresponds to the exact proportions of the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Blue but 1,2 mm thicker though, due to the use of enamel for the dials.
The movement is the manual winding Cal 822, beating at 21, 800 vibrations per hour, and offering an autonomy of 45 hours.
I am impatient to discover them at the Manufacture, and to share some pictures with you.
