The Reverso Chronograph in rose gold was issued in 1996. The Gran Sport Chronograph came 5 years after, in steel or yellow gold.

A bit bigger and thicker than the Reverso Chronograph, the Gran Sport Chronograph is less elegant, indisputably, but sportier, cooler, especially with the rubber strap.

The case size is 43, 5 mm x 28, 3mm for a height of 12, 6 mm. We are a bit above the GT case, indeed.

The movement ( Cal 829 ) borrows the same specificities than the Cal 859, but receives finishings of a lower level.

We have a rectangular shaped manual winding 30 minutes retrograde chronograph on the back side, while the recto shows the time. Original and still unique, to date.

Here is the steel white dial version on rubber I saw some weeks ago:

Something we rarely see, the complex case back.

With only 5 ATM water resistance, don't try to swim with it, you could be disappointed.

But you have a very cool, sporty watch, with some horological content.

This Reverso Gran Sport Chronograph is a good old temptation, which I will have to achieve, one day.

Best,

Nicolas

I've always liked this one but never had an opportunity to see it in the metal.

If I recall, it wasn't in the JLC lineup for too long. Thanks for the pics. M4

4 years if my memory serves me well. Not a frank success, truth to be told, but its original ( high ) retail may explain that. [nt]

Thanks, Ben. You can always try to ask to a strap maker to make a nice one... Even if these lugs are special. Who knows. [nt]
