The three Reverso watches were created exclusively for the 68th Venice Film Festival by Jaeger-LeCoultre and worn by the celebrities on the red carpet, giving in this way their support to the Jaeger-LeCoultre charity project "Reverso for Emergency – Jaeger-leCoultre helps the Salam Centre" to support the centre for cardiac surgery, which was opened by the Emergency humanitarian organization near Khartoum, Sudan.

Charity Auction at Christie's Milano

Palazzo Clerici, Milan: thursday 31st of May at 18.00 the exclusive pieces Reverso for Emergency will be auctioned at Christie's.

 

This Grande Reverso Ulta Thin in men's' and ladies' version features the lacquered Salam Centre symbol: a red heart.

 

The three lots (312 – 313 – 314) will be offered without reserve and the entire amount obtained through the auction will be devolved to Emergency.

 

The Salam Centre for cardiac surgery in Khartoum

The Salam Centre for cardiac surgery was constructed by Emergency in Soma, a village 20 km from Khartoum. It is the only centre of excellence providing free healthcare in the whole of Africa.

The Salam Centre provides highly specialised care to cardiac patients who would otherwise have no access to free surgical treatment, particularly those affected by congenital heart defects and heart valve disease. Highly specialised international experts train local medical staff to guarantee high levels of care and increase the autonomy of Sudanese personnel.

 

In just under three years, staff at the centre have operated on patients from more than 20 countries, including Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, Iraq, Chad, Jordan, Somalia, Burundi, Djibouti, Zimbabwe, Senegal and Burkina Faso.

Emergency is a humanitarian organisation founded in 1994 to provide assistance to the civilian victims of war and poverty.
