Samwan's acquisition of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Caspar David Friedrich offers a rare glimpse into a highly limited edition timepiece that masterfully blends horology with fine art. This article explores the intricate details of this exceptional Reverso, highlighting its artistic significance and the enduring appeal of traditional craftsmanship in luxury watchmaking. Samwan's personal journey to acquiring this piece underscores the serendipitous nature of collecting such rare horological treasures.

It was by sheer chance that I was able to lay my hands on this very fine piece of art. Only 5 pieces were made.

Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) was a German Romantic landscape painter, generally considered the most important artist of his generation. His work typically feature contemplative figures silhouetted against morning mists, night skies or Gothic ruins.

The watch has 8 days of power reserve. The dial is made of, as you can guess, grand feu enamel.
