Here is a picture of the Polaris 1965 and 1968:

The one among these two which clearly had a strong influence in the modern production is the 1968 version.

Have a look at the Compressor collection, for example.

The Master Compressor Memovox can be considered as a modern Polaris:

The Master Compressor Pro Geo has borrowed some obvious elements of style from the Polaris:

The Navy SEALs Automatic,

And the Navy SEALS Alarm even more, too.

The Master Compressor Diving Ceramic has to be mentionned, as well:

Despite its Chronograph, the Extrem World has an evident air de famille:

The Amvox line is another good illustration of the Polaris influence.

Even if, here, we should mention the controversial Calypso hand which may have or may have not existed on the later Polaris E 859:

Amvox I Titanium:

Amvox II ( platinum, here ) :

A few other examples may be mentionned, and I count on you to feed the discussion, such as the natural sons which are the Tributes, of course.

But one thing is clear, the link between Past and Present is very strong at JLC. Not only for the Polaris, but for most of the collection, like the Calendar, the Reverso, the Memovox...

Best,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox2 Ref. AMVOX2

The Amvox2 represents Jaeger LeCoultre's approach to contemporary sports timing, offered here in the Steel Black series configuration. This 44mm reference positions itself as a substantial automatic chronograph within the Amvox2 collection, distinguished by its monochromatic steel and black dial treatment.

The 44mm steel case houses an automatic movement and features a black dial beneath sapphire crystal protection. Water resistance extends to 100 meters, while a fixed bezel completes the case architecture. The steel construction and automatic movement provide the mechanical foundation for this chronograph reference.

This Steel Black series Amvox2 appeals to collectors seeking a modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports chronograph with substantial wrist presence. The 44mm case diameter and black dial configuration offer a contemporary alternative within the Amvox2 range, providing automatic chronograph functionality in a steel sports watch format. The combination of size, materials, and dial treatment positions this reference for collectors focused on modern Jaeger LeCoultre sports complications.

the discontinuation of, not only the Compressors, but of the Platinum series. I really loved JLC's blue on blue, 250 piece LEs of each new model. I wish they would re-launch this concept. Are you listening, Mr. Riedo? -Dean

I guess that's how you make a DNA without showing-off and in the purest way. You don't really see it but it's there. Thanks for highlighting this Nicolas. Cheers, Mark
