Nicolas (amanico) revisits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Navy SEALs Automatic, a significant sports watch from the brand's Master Compressor era. His detailed post and accompanying images highlight its design and specifications, offering a valuable perspective on a limited edition reference that predates JLC's current Polaris focus. This article explores why this 2010 release remains a compelling alternative to mainstream dive watches and sparks discussion among collectors.

Nowadays, Jaeger Lecoultre plays the Polaris Card, when it comes to sports watches.

Before, we had the Master Compressor family, and among them, the Navy SEALs line.

The simpler certainly was the Navy SEALs Automatic, with its 42 mm steel case. It came with its Cordura Strap, or an articulated rubber bracelet.

Issued in 2010, it was a limited edition of 1500 pieces. 300 meters water resistant was enough, for me.

On its articulated rubber bracelet:

On its Cordura strap.

The famous case back.

I would have preferred a screw in case back rather than these 4 screws. For the rest, it is not far from perfection.

THAT was a superb alternative to the stars of the category, mainly the Rolex Submariner.

Best,

Nicolas

Thanks for sharing my friend

Haven’t seen pics of this watch for awhile and almost forgot about it. Definitely one of the nicest sports watch from JLC, wish they can make watches like this again.

There is some place for a true sports watch, indeed. [nt]

This captures very well the time

when I felt many exciting things were happening one after another at JLC. Just wonderin' where has that feeling gone? I remember looking hard at this particular watch but in the end it was just too big (and thick) for my small wrist. Thanks for bring this up... /W72

Yes, my good friend. Since then we had some great watches, but these years were total madness. [nt]

Along with the Memovox I think it's the ultimate tool watch, I remember Al Pacino wearing one - I would love JLC would bring out another range of master compressors. Best Will. [nt]
