Blomman Mr Blue shares a captivating post, revealing a hidden 'ace' in his collection: a vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox. This article not only showcases the watch but also delves into the historical context of its utility in the 1950s, highlighting the enduring charm and practical elegance of mechanical alarm watches before the digital age.
Some time ago I posted this thread about watch holders and a game I play...

Well, I didn't show you all...
As a skilled poker player I kept a ace hidden under my sleeve.
But since I am (try to be) a honest man I will show you the ace I have up my sleeve!
But let's start with setting the mood...
It is in the early 1950's, you are Hispanic...
And you don't have an app that:
- reminds
- warns
- awakes - YOU!

So, what do you need?
Yes, this is what you need!

The first Memovox, with its tubular lugs, is a watch to have in any serious Memovox Collection. Superb. And when you have all the goodies which wome with it, it is just the top. Best, Nicolas
Not many of these holders around... :) Best Blomman
Blomman, Recently it was the Concord and now ... A wonderful memo. Cheers, Nilo
But in this case, I cannot help but contrast you as a passionate collector with many watch buyers who I know to buy certain pieces only because they are expensive, in great demand and you know the rest. They hardly care about history or the little details that enrich our journey. That's a bit sad but to each his own and once again I must say I am trying not to come off sounding judgmental here. Great stuff! Ruckdee
You're going to open a JLC museum! ;) HAGWE my friend! -MW
I have tons of material for these kind of posts! :) The problem is to find the watches that goes with them... Best, my friend Blomman
