Nicolas, known as amanico, reignites a crucial discussion about the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox, a collection he asserts is integral to JLC's identity. He challenges the community to look beyond the popular Polaris and Deep Sea models and appreciate the broader range of Memovox watches, particularly the dressier variants. Nicolas emphasizes the unique appeal of a manual-wind, no-date Memovox with a 3/6/9 dial and patinated tritium dots, inviting fellow collectors to share their own favorites.

When we are speaking about Memovoxes, we, lastly, discussed the Polaris and Deep Sea, the sporty ones.

Sometimes, we mentionned the Grand Reveil, or the Grande Memovox, which add the perpetual calendar in such a JLC way!

But it has been a long time we didn't discuss the modern Memovoxes.

Which is not fair, as we can seriously state that the Memovox is a big part of the JLC DNA.

A funny thing is that we missed the Memovox when JLC decided to discontinue the model for a very few years, before re introducing it in the catalog in 2010.

So, let's see which is YOUR favourite Memovox!

My favourite, among the " dressy ones " ( in comparison with the sporty ones, to be clear ), is certainly this one:

Why?

First for his manual movement. I will you more about this one, because there is an interesting trick, here.

Then, for its 3 / 6 / 9 dial, which is simply awesome, a great purity, I find, and no date here!

And cherry on the cake, the tritium dots ( which are not on all the watches belonginig to this reference ) which nicely patined, give a warm touch to the dial.

Now, I would really love to see a new one, with a black dial, and without date, housing the more modern Cal 956.

It is up to you, now, to share YOUR favourite Memovox!

Best,

Nicolas

I agree that the classic modern Memovox don't get as much attention as it deserves! Of the modern (non-sporty) Memovox I have three favourites. All three are for different reasons... The Master Reveil - the modern classic! Master Memovox International - the modern version of the elusive 3160! Master Memovox - the inovative, manual, gong mounted on the case back crystal, ... And the sound... Ah, the sound! What I do not agree with you is that what I wish for in the future... Rather than see a bla

I agree with you. Black dialed master Memovox with 3,6,9 numerals and NO DATE is my favorite. I think a reissue in the new style case (and, as you propose, the new movement) would be smashing! Cheers, John

Love the smaller size and sans date as compared to the current iteration . . .

.. one sort of has to decide between Vintage and Modern, which, however is not quite trivial: OK , so I'll try - since I own more vintage or semi- Vintage ones ( does that exist ??), I chose: 1/ My Kudos goes to my third Memo, as it has a certain magic, being a strong Black Knight: AND - a very good friend aided in finding one, and it is the first to really trigger MMV- collecting.. This is a real funky one, from the 70ies, The LC 3072 - think different, don't I ? The third is my beloved E855 Eb

...if I have to pick a modern. The looks of this is just way beyond the most for a true purist: (Picture in courtesy of mr. David Schneid). Unfortunately, I find the 855 way too small for actual use. But modern? Perhaps the International? (I find it a bit "flat" on the side. As well as the case back scratches my skin. Maybe the RG version if I was travelling a lot in other zones?) No, the 855 or the Polaris look for me... :) S.
