Friends, Many of you may know, that one
of my JLC collection themes is Memovox.

For quite a while, I have been looking
for a certain MMV, which is pretty rare:
it is a manual wind, Cal 914 ( which is
based on JLC Cal 916)and the watch
In very deep black with some red accents.

The word Memovox in the alarm, inner
dial disc, and red encircling of
Index points & of the alarm triangle itself.
The timepiece features a look through
caseback.

I do know, that our PuristS friends Blomman
( of course) & Stefan have one in their stables,
and it is a pretty rare piece altogether.

In the past, I had missed one , several years
ago ( as it had no papers & box), but there
had come only one more opportunity, 2 yrs
ago, where I hesitated too long, as it was
the super rare version with Tritium dial index points,
and - Stupid me ! - someone was faster..

Here is a pic ( Credits: Sotheby's & Nico) of
this great piece: deep black, little red contrasts,
34 mm diameter and for me über-cool.

A very desirable marvel..

But sometimes things happen
when you don't expect them or
almost have given up:

One very nice one was sourced, and
even in my hometown, actually few days
before we left for vacations for some weeks..

It is a beautiful sample in all aspects, but
just 2 little downs: no P+ B and no tritium.
So, a little dilemma: let another one go,
one in really super condition otherwise ?

Or pulling the trigger, as I really loved what I saw:
And indeed, that's what I did.

Thus, without further ado, I just wanted to
quickly share a little collage with few quick
pics - I absolutely love when I look at it
& even more so, when on my wrist !!

Here now my new arrival, Black Menovox,
Cal 914, Manual wind, No date !

Very happy with my Choice !

Hope, you like my find a bit -
I do , a real lot !!

Best, hs

If I am right it is 36mm case width without crown and not 34mm. Best wishes Alkiro

PS: And actually I discovered a 2nd little glitch: The Cal is 914, manual wind, yes - going back to Cal 918, (and not 916). - Apologies, as well !

I have had the opportunity to see one in Vienna earlier this year and really liked it. Outside of my watch buying cycle back then, unfortunately. And there used to be another one in Baden, I believe. In any case, you got yourself a real classic Memovox with this one - an excellent addition to your collection! This is the example I have tried on:

.. pricewise was a bit high, IMO. The one you tried, looked very nice ; 1 Q: was it T Swiss Made T, the Tritium version, which would have been really rare ? If you don\'t mind, pls send me a PM, where you had seen it ! If I would find the Tritium version, I even might consider getting it, to exchange.. But I absolutely like mine, anyway ! Cheers & Best, K !! hs
