Some of you might have seen my little post about my last week's watches,
which also mentions the take of tic-tacs for this week & today..

For years, for week's starts I've always picked a piece, that delivers some sort
of a good feeling, that puts a smile on my face, when I look down..

Smiling .. Always a great recipe ! smile

Of course, moods and weeks' beginnings may be different, but I've also made the
nice experience ( actually suggested to me by my wife), that one has a better start into the
new week, (with all things expected and non- expected), if one can begin with a smile !

One of the things, which can touch my mind and heart, is a nice tic-tac to start with..
- sometimes it can complement the suit, adjust to the venue, adapt to the event and can
of course also be a personal accent ..

Now following this a bit lengthy intro, here what I chose for this Monday:
- It's my JLC with a "humoristic twist", a Memovox with a smile,
the Reference 3161 - " Parking":

Here some pics with beautiful examples of Nico's & Blomman's Parkings, and also some
interesting ads from Blomman, from 2011 ( pls see the link below..) & again Nico

Again Blommans Super Double.. And his Big truck .. for all his watches

The Parking is a Memovox, yes, but also something different, something unconventional,
almost something anachronistic, in a way.

- But having said so, she never fails to put a smile on my face ! smile)

In fact, she is handwound, has a delicate case
and then this dial with the blue "P" (plus the parking times: 30, 60, 90 mins & 2 hrs)...

- Simple, but funny, not without elegance, but with a pun !

Thus, pls find enclosed my own appreciated Memo-Parking,
with a lightly chamois dial ( a part of it has a bit of a stain between 12 & 2),
but after some consulting, I decided against the attempt to "re-juvenate" or clean the dial
rather leaving her original condition: as she is otherwise delicate and a classic with this " P - twist"..

Here she is, in that little Collage below,
the JLC Ref 3161/ss...

My own humble Ref 3161 Parking.. Smiling is nice smile

Once more: JLC Ref 3161 - 'Parking'. smile)

Hopefully, these dwellings were not too long, and you liked it a bit

Have a great week and

Best, hs

Credits and Thanks to Nicolas & Blomman for some pics &
Blomman also for the fabulous ads, which I like a lot, Nicolas for his review & reports

About the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Ref. Ref3161

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Parking Ref. 3161 is a specialized variant within the broader Memovox alarm watch series, distinguished by its unique dial complication. Introduced in 1958, this reference was part of Jaeger-LeCoultre's 'Jubilé' year offerings, marking a period of innovation for the brand. It represents a niche application of the alarm function, tailored for a specific, practical purpose.

This reference typically features a stainless steel case, housing a manual-winding alarm movement. The dial is characterized by an inner rotating disc, which is set via a second crown, and features a distinctive 'P' or parking meter graphic. This allows the wearer to set a visual reminder for parking durations, a novel complication for its time. The case dimensions are generally modest, aligning with mid-century watch aesthetics.

For collectors, the Memovox Parking Ref. 3161 is notable for its specific historical context and unique dial execution. Its specialized function and limited production contribute to its desirability, offering a distinct piece of Jaeger-LeCoultre's horological history. It stands as an example of the brand's willingness to integrate practical, albeit unconventional, features into its mechanical timepieces.
