Friends,
- some weeks ago, around New Year, I had been introducing
my recent JLC arrival of the JLC Ref. 3150, an early Memovox of the
early 50ies, typical for her tubular, "hooded lugs", which define
this very Reference in a characteristic way;

The 3150 was released 1950, introduced for first time at the Basel Fair.

For those of you interested, here just 2 -3 quick reminder pics:

Today I thought to share two also rather early other References,
one a little earlier, from the mid to late 40ies, and one
( in fact again a Memovox ) from the mid 50ies, but a bit later
than the above mentioned E 3150.

The first one is a classical specimen, with just 3 hands, a manual
movement, but a very charming presence and cute appeal.

- It's the Reference JLC 159, here being from 1947;

Although my dear wife already has this sample among her
watches, a piece, we had found some 5 years ago in Amsterdam,
which since then was cherished by her quite a bit.

This watch has a classy layout, with lovely patina and leaf-shaped
hands & a lovely size for her, with 34mm.

Here is her's, with a cute greenish patination;

JLC E 159

very beautiful other examples have been shown here previously
by Nico & Blomman, those with a lovely brownish patina.

Ever since all these, I had been trying to find a E159 for myself.
Only after quite some years, such one was offered to me by
another Purist, who had read a comment here of my quest..

Thx to him, I soon had the pleasure to call her mine; just
minor work had to be done on the hands;
other than that she has a perfect dial & a lovely condition overall.

Thus, find here my E159, 34mm, a bit small but still very nice
& appealing on the wrist, IMHO.

The other, second one, also a rather small delicacy, I was happy
to receive from a very good friend, who parted from her,
( you know who you are).

My joy was even bigger, as she is another Memovox, from
the mid 50ies, which has a great dial with a two-toned
patina, ranging from light cream to a champagne-type,
and wonderful blued hands.

Here, this 2nd little delicacy, from 1956, when she was presented
in recognition of participation by the recipient in a hunt for elks:

Finally, here together the Duo of two smallish timekeepers, which however
are true JLC Vintage pleasures for me to wear & look down on them.

Pleasure Duo: E 3150 (left), E 159 (rt)

Hope you liked the little excursion:

- smaller pieces, can generate big pleasures..
At least for me..

Cheers & Best,

That E159 with black dial is beautiful, and has a different charm than any other JLC I've seen!

Reminds me of a 1016 or 6610, but ahead of their time I would think.
