Jaeger Lecoultre has just unveiled the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Moon.
You know the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon quite well, as we had these last years, several iterations of it, the last one housing the superb guilloché blue enamel in 2019.
Here, the true novelty lies in the combination of a tourbillon AND a moon phase, or should I say two moon phases, one for the northern and another one for the southern hemisphere.
The addition of a jumping date is well thought, too.
The new movement is a development of the Cal 978, the Cal 983, with a power reserve of 45 hours, which beats at the pace of 28, 800 alternances per hour.
The so called ultra thin case is not so thin, as it is 12, 10 mm high. But it still is very elegant, with an harmonious diameter ( 41, 5 mm ) / height ratio and the Le Grand Rose Gold metal, which goes very well with this kind of watch.
Last but not least, the eggshell dial is superb. I would love to see some leaf shaped hands, here.
While I am not a big fan of Tourbillons on the dial side, I must say that the addition of a moon phase gives a nice symmetry or balance to the dial.

Good one, Jaeger Lecoultre, now it is time to give us something cool, original, innovative, and quite affordable. Christmas is coming soon!
Best,
