Amanico's captivating tale of his Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Minute Repeater Titanium transcends a mere ownership story, offering a thrilling glimpse into the passion and occasional peril of luxury watch photography. His experience, nearly resulting in disaster, highlights the emotional connection collectors forge with their timepieces. This narrative not only showcases a rare and exquisite JLC reference but also underscores the universal collector's dilemma: balancing the desire to capture beauty with the inherent value of the object itself.

I got my Master Minute Repeater on the 31th  of July 2007. In November of the same year, I changed my car and took delivery of an Audi A5 Coupé. With Poy, we decided to give the watch and the car some photo session.

The funny thing, which could have been terrible, is that I decided to put the watch on the front grill of the car and to secure it with some wires.

Just before taking the road.

After a few kilometers, I just realized that the watch was not on my wrist, but still on the front grill.

You can imagine how I felt... When seconds last an eternity. When you hope that God exists, and that the watch is still stuck on the front grill... Which was luckily the case, with some flies smashed on the glass of the watch.

So, I tested the watch, which is flies and rain resistant to some 3 or 4 kilometers. wink

Here are the pictures:

The infamous front grill:

On the engine bay, which would have been even more terrible!

Best,

Nicolas

Incredibile story, I was in pain just to think of the few seconds between the time you realized the watch wasn’t on your wrist and when you found it! ;-)) For sure it passed a wind resistance test with flying colors!! :-)
