Nicolas (amanico) initiates a compelling discussion on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Date, specifically highlighting the 2015 black dial variant and its former case design. He invites readers to consider the aesthetic evolution of the Master Control line, particularly in light of the 2020 case redesign, and poses a thought-provoking question about the potential of combining the new case with the older black dial. This exploration of design nuances offers valuable insights for collectors appreciating JLC's modern dress watches.

I think they are a great option if you want a dressier "GADA" (go anywhere, do anything) watch. Some might find the silver dials to be a bit sterile. But I find the black dials to be sterile and unassuming.
Is the king for me,reminds me of Explorer 1 ,tool watch but nevertheless elegant
I do find the silver dials to be a bit sterile. I have a MUT Moon, which I bought nearly a decade ago, and even I find it cold every now and then. The black dials, however, I find to be charming* and unassuming. Under either circumstance, silver and black dials are both interesting. And, as Juliosotto mentioned, the black dial in particular is the dress watch equivalent of the Explorer 1. Dollar for dollar, I think you would be hard pressed to find a brand that presents a better value than JLC i
.... you have a MUT34 with a slightly bigger case 😀 Best, E.
Green Horween chromexcel strap! Why I love it: - black wheel Date - 100 % mirror/ black polish case - white JLC signature on dial - NO AUTOMATIQUE literature, worthless indication to me. - 39mm with perfect aperture of the dial thanks to the thickness of the bezel I glad to hear that this configuration wasn’t the favourite for many , which makes this more special/ specific to me ))) Here next to another great timepiece… My 2 cents…
JLC seems deaf nowadays… And blind !
