Amanico initiates a thought-provoking discussion comparing the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme Lab One and Two, highlighting their distinct approaches to innovation. He challenges the perception that the 'Two' is more technical, revealing the 'One' as the true 'zero oil' pioneer. This post invites the community to imagine a potential 'Extreme Lab Three,' focusing on desired complications and technological advancements.

The funny thing when you compare the Extreme Lab One and the Two, is that the most innovative watch is not the one you think it is...

The One has a clear sporty look, even with its Tourbillon and its open dial. It looks less " technical " than the Two, while it is the contrary, by far!

The One is a " Zero Oil " watch, while the Two needs some oil, like a classic watch. For the One, Jaeger Lecoultre opted for innovative materials, to reach the " zero oil " watch goal.

But the Two, with its digital minutes chronograph, the radial power reserve, and its spectacular dial gives a feeling of high technology.

When you look at these two, you are just wishing Jaeger Lecoultre comes with a third opus.

With more solutions borrowed to the One, but with which complications, according to you?

Let your imagination speak, and please share your dreams!

Best,

Nicolas

The first time I saw the MEL1, I knew this would be the ultimate watch to get.

Dreams about Lab 3? Just a slightly smaller case with 42 mm at maximum and less than $35,000 MRSP... :‘D

Considering the price...

... the same as in Lab 2.

30 to 40 K euros, then. Which seems fair IF we have something mechanically and technically original. [nt]

The thing with me is, that most times it's just the size. I have a very strict idea of the size for a specific watch.

For me, a watch has to be 37-42 mm in diameter, if not I give a fuck about it's beauty and rant all the time.

He he he... For a concept or for a sports / tool watch, 42 to 44 mm is ok, for me. When you try the Extreme Lab One on, you don't have the feeling it is 44 mm big. [nt]
