FanFrancisco's long-awaited visit to the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture offers a compelling narrative of a collector's dream realized. This article provides a unique perspective on JLC's core philosophy, emphasizing reliability and practical innovation over mere finishing aesthetics. The unexpected encounters with key figures like Jerome Lambert and Stephane Belmont add a personal touch, making this a must-read for anyone interested in the heart of JLC's watchmaking.

Have been waiting to visit to MJLC one day for many years, finally it came true. No regrets to travel a long journey from one continent to another continent and also took us longer time to reach to manufacture from Geneva central because the roads were rather wet and slippery due to the early snowing started the night before we were there.

I have visited other watch manufactures before visiting to MJLC, one major difference compared this visit with others I learnt was that one of focuses in other manufacturer visits usually is on finishing parts, however this is not the main course of this visit, rather this visit is to let me know the solid and practical side of manufacture which matches with the core value and fundamental philosophy of MJLC that to made a good and reliable watch with good values and advance creations inside every watches for people daily wear. This makes me rethink and strengthen why I like JLC and why I started JLC vintage collection and traced back its history and roots.

One added but unexpected moment was to meet Jerome Lambert and his senior management teams at the time of starting my visit. Was told that he hasn’t visited to MJLC for many years, but happened and coincidentally he made a visit to MJLC. What a lucky moment added to this visit.

Another treasure time I had was talking with Stephane Belmont who has been in JLC for many many years and currently the Maison Heritage & Rare Pieces Director in MJLC. We talked many topics regarding the history, current and future of JLC. We even touched on what is the best size of a watch, will the small size watch be returned to the markets in future.

As the visit Programme is packed, only managed to see small parts of the museum, wish I would have spent long time to see the entire museum. Perhaps it will be an good excuse to visit there again.

Only able to take the following pics to share my joys with you as it is not allowed to take pics inside the manufacture.

Even with the photo restrictions, you chose your moments well. The photos of the Vallee de Joux are gorgeous, and I envy this opportunity! That tray of high complications is exquisite, and the caliber 177 from the Gyro 1 is a rare treat to see outside of its case. Did you get to operate and hear the Hybris Mechanica 11 ultra-thin repeater in the "group photo?" Best, Tim
