I visited the London Boutique today to pick up an Amvox strap and drop off my Atmos for servicing. My thanks to Carmen and Steph for their help.

Some quick and dirty pictures:

Quick work - they already had the Polaris Date in green in the case. I am not normally a green person but I actually liked the muted olive green on this watch, in person.

The watches I really wanted to see in person were the Polaris Perpetual Calendars, not least because I love blue and I think their gradient dials are fantastic. I particularly wanted to try the steel version. In reality it felt a little light (compared to my VC Overseas Chronograph or large Rolex sport models) but it was very comfortable and the 42mm size is a great fit for me.

Although I went in thinking the steel would be my favourite, the pink gold version stole the show. It has the extra heft that I generally prefer and, naturally, has more “wow” factor but without being too ostentatious. The blue dial and blue rubber strap work very well together.

I hope your new AMVOX strap will promptly be supplied, they are, in my opinion, some of the best sports-watch strap designs ever on top of being hugely comfortable. Also, that rose gold Polaris PC truly looks wonderful, I suspected that would be my favorite version of the watch as well! Thanks, Filip

Surprisingly, I was able to pick up the strap on this visit. I thought it would take months.

I just ordered the plain black version so the Boutique was able to get it within a couple of weeks. I guess if I ordered the proper Racing strap with the orange stitching it would take a lot longer. It is a great strap but because it is so thick near the lugs I think it will take a bit of time and wear to conform to my wrist properly, but it will be worth the effort! Yes, the Polaris PC is great.

Quite fortunate then!!

I might ask if I can purchase an extra strap when I visit Le Sentier next month with Nicolas, I wear it so much that I am sure I'll end up needing another strap in a few years time.... I find that, in my experience of wearing it for almost two months now on an everyday basis, the bulk of that thickness at the top where the strap meets the lugs, sits above the surface plane of my wrist. Which simply means that I do not find it obtrusive at all in terms of wearability and overall comfort.... I'll

Yes, certainly worth asking about the straps when you are in Le Sentier.

I’m sure you will have lots of fun on the factory tour. Le Sentier, and the rest of the Jura, is beautiful. Less dramatic than the high Alps but with stunning forests and lakes. I think I just need to wear the watch and strap will conform to my wrist in good time, but I am supposed to be keeping the watch for my birthday at the end of the month. I am not doing a very good job of leaving the watch in it’s box!

Anyway, here's a couple of head-on images of how it sits on my wrist. As I mentioned above, the bulk of the thick-end of the strap is comfortably above the surface plane of my wrist.... Top design overall.... Cheers, Filip

The Polaris perpetual calendar is a very interesting piece. Prefer it in stainless steel. But am afraid it might be to big.
