Nicolas (amanico) brings renewed attention to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time, a reference that enjoyed a surprisingly brief production run from 2015 to 2019. He argues that this model, with its unique combination of a world time complication and 'dead beat seconds' (True Second), alongside its exclusive Caliber 772, is significantly undervalued and poised to become a future collector's item. His analysis prompts a deeper look into the watch's distinctive features and its place within JLC's modern horological offerings.

Launched in September 2015, discontinued 4 years after, this model and its sister the Geophysic True Second had a short life, to say the least.

Surfing on the case of the Tribute to Geophysic, in bigger, housing a new movement which has not been used in another watch ( Cal 772 ), offering an original combination of two great complications, the world time and the " dead second ", with an original dial, this watch deserves a lot of attention, I think. A lot more attention, to be more precise.

Missed, but not forgotten, this Geophysic Universal Time. At the point it is very high in my wish list.

Best,

Nicolas

I agree

It had a very short run, and I believe, small production. I tried my best to get this version instead of the regular version but it was all sold out except for the boutique in Canada (someone on FB told me it was in his boutique). My favourite part of it is the JL logo neatly sitting in the dial. It is so regal. There is no further way to improve this watch, it is perfect!

What is the difference between this version and the "regular" version?

Just curious. Thanks, respo

By special, you mean without one bridge close to the balance wheel?

Like that? Without: With... On the outer part of the dial between 5.30 and 6.30 o' clock. You see it is missing in the first picture.

Are the calibers numbered differently as a result of the difference in the bridges? [nt]

The watch is perfect, the functions necessary, nothing missing, imo, on bracelet it's the perfect winner!

and it can be caught for a fistful of beans.
