Amanico shares his enduring admiration for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Extreme Lab 1, a watch he considers the epitome of JLC's sports watch capabilities. His post highlights the watch's innovative features, such as its zero-lubrication movement and the integration of complications like GMT and radial date, positioning it as a dream watch that influenced subsequent JLC models.

The epitome of the sports watch by and from Jaeger Lecoultre.

My relation with this watch is a bit like the relation you have with a good friend. Each time I go to the Manufacture, I ask for it. I ask to see it.

Next time will not be exception.

I am not a Tourbillon guy, and I find a tourbillon has nothing to do on a sports watch, truth to be told, but in this case, it is part of the challenge.

Dang the watch, submit it to extreme conditions, it will still work.

Add a friendly complication, the GMT, plus the original radial date, and keep in mind it is a concept watch thought to work with zero lubrification, and you have all the reasons to be fan of it.

Aaah, should I add that some of its solutions were used for later watches, such as the Extreme Lab II ( rotor ), Amvox III ( Rotor ), Geophysique Universal Time ( " Gyrolab " balance wheel  wink

This Extreme Lab One calls for a future. We are many here to keep our fingers crossed to see a new and excellent JLC sports watch.

Aren't Xmas and New Year festivities the best moment in the year to express wishes?

Best,

Nicolas

I know Cartier is working on it, too. But kudos to JLC for putting the watch to the extreme test!

One would be hard pressed to find a manufacture with such a broad collection as JLC. From classic pieces to trailblazing models pushing the extreme, all for a reasonable price when compared to the competition. Truly the watchmaker's watchmaker!

I'm contemplating a way around my wife to get my first JLC...

If that happens, I will be contented.

that taking one\'s wife onto the trip can be much more effective than trying to find a way around her. Mine I spoiled five years ago with an innocent NOMOS. Then I let time do its own thing. In the meantime she got herself two very nice JLCs. Best, Martin

It is packed with features and still easily goes below the radar. Seeing in in the metal one day would be a great experience. Thanks a lot for reminding us of this special treat. Martin
