Amanico introduces the 2017 Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Sphérotourbillon in rose gold with a magnetite grey dial, a subtle yet impactful update to the existing line. His detailed live photos and observations highlight the aesthetic changes and invite community discussion on this refined complication.
Jaeger Lecoultre introduced the Duometre Rose Gold magnetite grey dial version in the 2017 catalog. I didn't have the opportunity to take some live pictures of this one, during the last SIHH, but it is now done.
The novelty is the color of the dial. Since this year, we had the rose gold and platinum version, unveiled in 2012.
And the " Sphero Moon " born in 2015.
The novelty is the color of the dial.
With the applied baton indices which is now common to the two other Duometre rose gold magnetite grey dials, the Quantième Lunaire and the Chronograph.
The hands are another subtle change, too. Spade, not leaf shaped anymore.
There are two ways to see this new version. It is not a true novelty since you only have these two differences mentioned above about the dial and hands.
You can also feel that these details change the perception you can have on this watch. Less cold, more contrast, less sensual, maybe, more powerful.
The Shperotourbillon is a magic watch , due to the ballet of its tourbillon.
As previously said, my heart is still taken, in this category, by the Gyrotourbillon One.
But the Spherotourbillon has the advantage of a modern and elegant case.
We are still waiting for a really new Duometre, still.
Your thoughts on this one?
Best,
Nicolas
