Jaeger-Lecoultre could play it the easy way, and unveil just one, let's say the Pocket Watch. Everybody would be happy and satisfied, us too.
No, the Manufacture felt the need to do a " Hat Trick, " and score three magnificient goals, if you allow me this footballistic comparison.
The Enamel, Blue Dial, and to be more precise, Paillonné is a pure marvel. A paillon is a chip taken from a block of silver ( I had to borrow this definition in the press release, as I ignored what it was ), delicately and harmoniously put in the enamel.
Don't you have the feeling the dial looks like a summer starry night, this way?
Another detail on the dial... The " Double Stairs " surrounding the Spherotourbillon, which start above to go up to the dial, like the stairs of an old luxury hotel...
Impressive.
But that's not all!
Have a better look at the bezel, you will notice the presence of a thin blue enamel ring!
Now, another surprise is waiting for your attention, on the side of the case, between 8 and 10 o'clock: An aperture, which allows the owner to admire the ballet of the Tourbillon, even better than on the " normal " version.
The Devil is in the details, and JLC knows how to drive us crazy. A last detail, the side case, which is engraved and also blue enameled. Jaeger obviously took some inspiration from the Doges' Palace in Venice and confesses it.
Those who found that the Duometre à Spherotourbillon was a bit cold, especially in its platinum version will certainly change their mind.
I am pretty sure that Jaeger-Lecoultre will generate a lot of furstration here, as only 3 pieces are available.
To be honest, this is my favourite version of the Duometre à Spherotourbillon, by far. A magnificient and very coherent piece.
Best,
Nicolas
