Increasingly, I appreciate the readability of some dials compared to others as my old eyes aren’t getting any younger.  Amongst the most easy on the eyes is this JLC reference.  I’m sure readability was key given its original function as a dive watch; however, not all dive watches accomplish this as well.

It is a great piece and I loved the alarm function. I’d use it frequently in my studio, while painting, to remind myself to take breaks. Though ultimately the alarm and date crown always seemed to argue with each other. After having it serviced too many times I parted with it. Would welcome something else like it, mechanical alarms are so much fun.

Amazing piece, beautifully constructed and nice lume. The stuff of dreams. I didn’t know about the Breitling superocean vintage piece until your picture posted today. That brings a newfound appreciation for the capsule collection divers, and also the vintage superoceans.

Were they the secretly-rich surfers who’d travel to Nazare, Portugal to surf the massive waves, not having to work a single day in their lives and still manage to fund such endeavours? I’ve met some like that before. An Aussie hippie dude walked into the watch boutique to collect his Rose Gold Aquanaut. He didn’t even know the water resistance on that piece. There he was treated like a VIP, although no one
