Amanico presents a rare official technical drawing of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm (DSA) Europe, offering valuable insights into its production timeline and rarity. This document, dated February 12, 1960, helps contextualize the European version within the DSA's overall production run, distinguishing it from earlier US models. His research sheds light on the historical nuances of this significant vintage diver's watch.

If you remember well, I posted some of the results of my investigations on the DSA US dial.

Here it is:

Now, I propose you to discover the official drawing of the Deep Sea Alarm Europe...

Despite the fact that it is always great to have such a document, it is also very interesting to read some informations.

Here, the date of the technical drawing... 12th of February, 1960. So, it couldn't fit the 500 first pièces, which were, necessarily US versions.

In production from 1959 to 1962, for a total of 1061 pièces, that confirms the rarity of the European version. Even if it is not possible to get the exact number of European DSA made.

For your eyes, and for your information....

Best,

Nicolas

Thus, production had already started in 1959, 3 years earlier (?); - does this also infer, that a (large, total of 500) badge in the beginning year must have been the US version/ LC one only ( for US market ) ? If I remember correctly on your post ( in 2013) about the US version, the first drawing of DSA case, was in fact in Feb 1959,and you had q

And since 1960, both the US and the European were in production. So, a reasonable guess leads us to think that among the 1061 pièces, you could have three quarters of US, and a quarter of Europeans. Which explains why we almost never see an European for sale on the different collectors markets. Another thing is to consider that on a total of 1061 pièces, how many are still alive? While we can quite easily find a Polaris 1968 for sale ( 1164 pièces ) and we can from time to time find a Polaris 19
